Phnom Penh

I’ve got lots of catching up to do, for the last two weeks when I was in Cambodia. I’m in Lao now, but it doesn’t mean I shouldn’t share my Cambodian trip. During these last days I took the time to live, and I didn’t blog…

I came in to Cambodia by bus from Ho Chi Minh Ville, aka Saigon, and spent the first three or four days in Saigon. I originally planned to stay less, but my passport was at the Lao embassy for a Visa I didn’t need because I could do it at the border, but they didn’t tell that in the Lying Planet, did they?

For a first look on Cambodia, Phnom Penh was positive. And staying there two or three more days wasn’t that bad. You meet lots of people in your travels… a Canadian Viking who wants to have his own restaurant in Siem Reap, an englishman who was ok to go drink beers on the lakeside, two Danish girls I had met in the Transsiberian and then in Chengdu and Dali, China, and some cute french girls, wandering around the globe…

After the hustle and bustle (is it a right expression? I read it somewhere) of Saigon, Phnom Penh was calm and so nice… I loved it. I could visit the national museum, wander in the streets and visit the markets, discover a photo exhibition which took place all around town and was organized by the French embassy, PhotoPhnomPenh.
