Three days in Batad. One day to get there, because there’s no road and no car and no noise no pollution, two nights, a wedding in the village, with people who came from all the valleys around. The morning sun, lighting the steps of the rice terraces one after the other until the village at the bottom is in the light, the villages visited while getting to Batad, steps and steps on the way to there, and some more steps to get to the waterfall and take a dip in the cold water there, and the people I travelled with, having great philosophical conversations before knowing their name, and tourists, french tourists mostly, and the bride’s cousins who invite me to eat and drink at the table of the newlyweds, and the Manny Pacquiao fight on pay per view TV and againg going to walk in the mountains for my last trek before South America. Philippines are over (actually that was three weeks ago, if not more)
